Phoenix Implant Borne Bridge

When people are missing all their teeth or a large number of teeth, it can present some extra restorative challenges. If people can avoid it, they don't want a removable restoration. Removable appliances require extra bulk to function properly, so they get in the way of speaking and interfere with the enjoyment of food. There is also the insecurity that it may come out at an embarrassing time. But using dental implants can also present problems. If the implants don't replace missing bone and gum tissue, they can be very un-esthetic. If they do, they can present problems with cleaning and maintenance, because ideally, the patient should be able to clean around the implant itself.

One option that can solve these problems is the implant-borne bridge. Since creating these restorations requires an uncommon level of skill and precision, we are one of the few offices in the country who can offer them.

The amazing part of this restoration is how it is held in. The abutments (the cyllinders that are attached to the root form and are projecting out of the model) are precisely milled so that their sides are perfectly parallel. The companion female attachments that are embedded in the teeth are milled to a 5-micron tolerance. To help you understand the precision here, 5 microns is about 1/10 the thickness of a human hair. With this degree of precision, the hydraulic properties of your saliva will hold the teeth securely in place so that they cannot be dislodged, just as if it were cemented bridgework. At the same time, your dentist or you, with proper technique and care, can remove the restoration for cleaning or maintenance.

With an implant-borne bridge, the missing teeth, the loose teeth, and the missing bone and gum tissue can all be replaced for a solidly functional and naturally beautiful result.
